Hi Everyone,
My name is Crystal and I love photography. I love appreciating photographs, I love capturing great moments that may never be replicated and I love the sense of freezing a piece of time in history. I think there is just something lovely and honest about it all that excites me.
I have always loved art. My first love was drawing and crafting as a kid and when I grew up I all of a sudden found myself studying Art History in University - who would have ever thought! After one fateful black and white photography course I was hooked! After a six year hiatus from art, and pursuing dreams of way more left brain career opportunities, I all of a sudden was in desperate need to get back to my creative side and bought a digital camera. I started taking classes in photography and began developing "my style" which is still a work in progressive but is oh so much fun to be on a quest to find. Last year was a huge year for my growth as an artist. I worked on a project with three other photographers in which we took one photo a day for 365 days! Whew........ what a big project but on January 9, 2011 it was finished and is a body of work that I am still so proud of completing.
As stated by my last post in Project 365, The End Is Just The Beginning, well it is time for the next beginning. Today is the the official launch of my website, my new blog, and many new hopes and dreams. I am not sure where the next stretch of the road will carry me but I am excited for the next chapter and to see where it will go. I hope to use this new blog as a way to show some of my favorite photographs from projects that I am working on and to share photos and stories of great people that I get to meet along the way.
